colder. We’ll combine oats with milk and yogurt and flavor them with spices. Banana and raisins
add natural sweetness. Once combined, the oatmeal is baked in the oven for a delicious breakfast
the whole family will love. If you have a brunch planned, save time by mixing this up ahead of
time, store in the refrigerator for several hours until ready to bake and serve your guests.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup walnuts
  • 1/3 cup hemp hearts
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 2 cups dairy or non-dairy milk
  • 2 tbsp canola or safflower oil
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large banana, halved lengthwise and sliced
  • 1/3 cup raisins (try substituting with dried cranberries, dried cherries, dried apricots or a diced-up apple)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Coat an 8-inch-square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Mix oats, walnuts, hemp hearts, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and allspice in a large bowl. Combine milk, yogurt, oil, brown sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients; stir until completely incorporated. Stir in bananas and raisins (or other dried fruit). Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake until golden on top and firm to the touch, 45 to 50 minutes.

Notes

For those early, busy mornings; prepare and bake this oatmeal recipe ahead of time and cut into desired serving sizes. Place serving on a microwave safe dish and warm up in the microwave for a quick healthy breakfast. Add a bit of milk if desired. Stores in the refrigerator for up to a few days.
