A good balanced measurement of the hemp seed food ingredients for diabetic friendly smoothies is as follows:
- 3 to 4 tablespoons Hemp Hearts (3.3g protein per tbsp)
- 2 tablespoons Higher Fiber Hemp Protein Powder (3.66g protein per tbsp)

Carrot, Pinapple, Ginger Hemp Heart Smoothie - Diabetic Friendly

- Prepare Carrots: Peal and chop into 1 -2 inch long pieces. *Blanching the carrots is optional. Some high speed blenders will chop the carrots up into a smooth texture.
- Blanching Carrots:Add water to 1 1/2 to 2 quart sauce pan. Place on high heat burner.When water comes to a boil, add prepared carrots.To blanch carrots, let them boil in the water for 2-5 minutes, depending on the size.Drain carrots from water; a colander can be used or simply place the lid of the pot over the pan and drain water in sink. Let cool.*Hint: Prepare carrots ahead of time and store in the refrigerator so they are cold when your ready to use. Preparing more than you need in a single serving smoothie will be a time saver for your next smoothie.
- Add prepared carrots to blender.
- Prepare fresh ginger by scraping off paper-like outer skin from the ginger rootPlace in blender
- Add remaining ingredients to blender:Pineapple juiceLemon juicePeeled banana Milk (optional) or coconut waterHemp HeartsHigher Fiber Hemp Protein Powder Turmeric (optional)
- Blend until Smooth, taste to adjust lemon and ginger to suit your palate. Blend in ice cubes or pour over ice to make cold
- Pour into glass & enjoy!
